Dual Sport Rides With The DVTR
As we get ready to return to Tamaqua, PA for our annual Enduro, Woods and Dual Sport campout, we get more and more excited to carve out some new trails and we know our friends at the DVTR, Delaware Valley Trail Riders, are stoked to take all you street-legal dual sport riders out for an epic day (or two!) of on-road-off-road riding!!
Sign Up is CLOSED as of 9/15.
MEET YOUR GUIDES: THE DVTR
If you’ve have gone on any of the guided dual sport rides at an Over And Out event, you’ve ridden along with the Del Val Trail Riders. If you just attended OAOMX in June, you even rode with one of their founding members, Marco Sanna, with his training organization, Into The Woods.
The DVTR team are some of the nicest, most capable and fun-loving riders we’ve had the pleasure of working with and they run some really amazing events themselves, like the Michaux (America’s longest running dual sport) which is already sold out for 2021! We’re also partnered with them for our sold out weekend of enduro clinics with Megan Griffiths!
We’re stoked to have the DVTR leading you on guided rides that venture off-site onto local paved roads, dirt roads, and trails for the day! Read on to see schedule and requirements…
ABOUT THE RIDES
The guided rides are designed for:
Bikes that are plated, registered and insured
On-road/off-road tires (70/30, 80/20 or more aggressive)
Between 200cc to 650cc (or more depending on your off-road abilities, contact us to be sure.) If you’re new to off-road riding, lighter weight is ideal.
You must be a licensed motorcycle operator
You should at least be acquainted with group-riding etiquette, formation and hand-signals. You can study up here!
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT RIDING OPTIONS FOR DUAL SPORTS:
Bikes with on-road/off-road tires will also be able to ride many of the Easy / C-Level trails on-site, but for all remaining on-site trails (Intermediate and Advanced) full knobby tires are required and less than 300cc recommended. See all riding options offered at Over And Out.

No rider will be forced to travel through something, we will always have your safety and comfort as top priority.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT RIDER LEVEL:
Many newer riders have trouble assessing themselves. If you are even questioning your ability, message us to discuss, and we recommend you only sign up for the ride on Friday. Then, if you go on the Friday ride, and want to inquire with the DVTR team as to whether they think you can handle the Saturday ride or if they have room to let you join the Saturday ride, you can explore that possibility. We are here to open doors and help you make progress!
REQUIREMENTS
You must be an Over And Out September 2021 ticket-holder to sign up for one of these rides Grab a ticket here.
All Dual Sport bikes must be street-legal, plated, registered and insured, and you must have a motorcycle license.
70/30 tires or more aggressive, no street tires. Full-size bikes only (no minis).
We recommend bikes no larger than 650cc max. If you ride a big bike like a boss and want to do one of these rides, simply email us to make sure you’re all good!
If you ride a plated dirt bike or a two-stroke you are totally welcome to sign up for these rides, just be aware that knobby tires on pavement do not grip as well as dual-sport tires (so ride carefully) and be sure to carry extra fuel and 2T oil as you’ll likely need to refill sooner than the majority of other bikes on these rides.
Minimum gear requirements: DOT approved helmet, gloves, protective outerwear, protective riding boots. See full recommended packing list below.
Please be familiar with riding as a group. Please Read the MSF’s Guide to Group Riding .
BIKE CONDITION & PREP
Because any number of mechanical issues can occur on a ride, please ensure your bike is in proper riding condition before you come to OAO. This includes oil change, battery, gas, tire pressure and tire condition.
As always, we have mechanical support to help with basic maintenance items, but even basic items take time and focus away from the ride. Please do your part to properly prepare your vehicle, and address any other larger mechanical concerns prior to coming to OAO. Be gassed up and ready to roll at the time of the ride.
