Meet Dan Sedlak

How long have you been riding or instructing?

I started riding when I was 6 years old and then became a professional when I was 18. I am originally from Germany, and raced the German Nationals, some MX3 GPs, some European Championships, and some of the European Supercross races. Over 10 years as a professional I raced in over 40 different countries on 6 continents and really got to “live the dream".

Tell us about Sedlak Off-road School!

I started Sedlak Off-road School in 2013. Initially I helped young riders from overseas come to the US to race here. Over the years we transitioned into Motocross and Enduro training camps and put a major focus on introducing new riders to the sport with our Day in the Dirt program. My team of instructors are all USMCA certified and either former or current professional racers.

For years, Dan split his time between California and Africa, organizing Motocross Schools in Uganda, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana. He also organized the first ever Motocross school in Vietnam.

Where is your favorite place to ride?

Favorite place to ride is Italy. Great tracks and even better food.

Uganda, Africa

Hanoi, Vietnam

Favorite memory teaching people to ride?

One of my favorite memories is from doing a Motocross school in Hanoi, Vietnam a couple of years ago. It was one of the first ever riding schools that took place there and to see the excitement and the passion in everyone was awesome. It was really cool to see the sport grow in a place that doesn't have any real dirt biking history.

What are you looking forward to about this OAO event?

Really looking forward to meeting a lot of new and excited riders. It will be a great event to be a part of and help everyone become better and more confident on two wheels. Let’s Gooooo!
