All The FUN at Our Summer Training Campout

Our summer training camp is coming up June 9-11 in Hampton, NJ for ladies only, ages 18+! Here’s what’s on the docket for this upcoming weekend of riding, learning, camping and fun!

About the Venue

Riding land in the Northeast is hard to come by, which is why we’re so lucky to be able to open up this spot, conveniently located about an hour from NYC or Philadelphia. While this venue is smaller than our big flagship event, it has terrain options perfect for operating training classes, practicing techniques and taking some laps with your friends at your leisure, with:

  • a great woods loop that features two-track and single-track trail that runs along a beautiful rocky river under a thick canopy of woods. It delves into a deep gorge, where the temperature is a good 10-15 degrees cooler (making it perfect for warm summer riding!).

  • an endurocross-style obstacle area with graduating size logs and rock gardens

  • a mini-bike track (which is still a ton of fun on a full size bike)

  • a large flat open grass field

Together these terrain options offer the ability to practice rocky water crossings, steep inclines and declines (as well as some more approachable ways up and down), tight single track, twisty turns, small tabletop jumps, rock gardens of varying size, roots, log crossings and more!

When not riding, ladies can take a break in the saltwater pool, chill out pool-side and enjoy a free Monster, a free ice cream break, campfire with s’more-roasting, and camping under the stars, not to mention coordinated times for meeting and riding with other female riders.

Training Sessions for All Levels

Attendees should make the most of the weekend by booking a training class. The total of our general admission ticket plus a training class is still less than most summer training clinics, and it includes all the extra fun and meals all weekend long. :)

Beginner to Novice Riders

Whether you are brand new to motorcycling, or new to off-road riding, take a lesson with our friend Jeffrey Ufberg from the Dirt Bike Academy! Jeffrey is an amazing USMCA-certified teacher, and is really gifted at teaching the fundamentals and base knowledge that can give every off-road rider the best start possible. Even if you have been riding street for a while, you should still start with one of these classes, because off-road fundamentals like body position are crucial. It will make you a better off-road rider and a better on-road rider for the future!

You can book this class with or without a novice-friendly bike from Jeffrey’s fleet of 4-stroke Honda trail bikes.

All Other Levels, Novice to Advanced

Last year at this event, ladies got to experience the awesomeness that is Rachel Gutish, with her badass riding ability and super-articulate explanations and instructions! Rachel is back, now an official USMCA-certified coach as part of our partnership, and Over And Out is Rachel’s title sponsor as she races the GNCC, US Sprint Enduro, hard enduros, the ISDE and more this year!

Check out Rachel’s very own descriptions of what she plans to cover in each class:

LEVEL 1: This class is perfect for riders wanting to learn the basics of navigating mildly challenging terrain and clearing obstacles. If you’re a novice or lower-intermediate rider who is looking to feel more confident on the trails, or wants to learn and practice getting your front wheel up, this is the class for you! We’ll start by talking about the principles of good riding form, and use various drills to reinforce these basic skills. Then, we’ll head to the trails and obstacle course to apply these skills to real-world situations like small logs, rocky trails, hills and single track.

LEVEL 2: This class is geared for the rider that is already pretty comfortable on the trails, but would like to take their skill level up a notch. We will cover the same field drills and trail sections as Level 1, BUT at a more accelerated pace wo that we have more time in the woods and on the obstacle course. We will be attaching more difficult obstacles and sections than what would be found in Level 1, but nothing too extreme.

LEVEL 3: This is a special class for riders who are already advanced or really looking to challenge their skills. I suspect it will be a small class size, but that is OK as it will allow for more 1-on-1 time and flexibility in what we cover. While we will still be talking about the basic principles, the drills will become more complicated and challenging, include big logs, pivot turns and the gnarliest obstacles we can find on the property. You do not need any hard enduro experience to take this class, but we’ll go as challenging as I think we can based on the groups abilities. The ability to consistently pop a wheelie is a prerequisite for this level, as is being very comfortable on the types of trail you would find at an average hare scramble.

More Weekend Activities

Track Walk with Rachel Gutish

There’s a lot you can learn by walking a track and eyeing it up. What do you look for? Well, hear it from a real pro! Take a free track walk with Rachel Gutish and she’ll explain what she sees, and she would do on the bike to ride most successfully. This is an activity that can help any rider improve and feel more confident on the bike. Sign up for a free track walk HERE.

Campfire S’mores Meet, Greet and Gear Talk!

We have a lot of new riders at this event, which is SO rad. There are so many questions ladies have about gear and bikes, that we thought it would be awesome to host a campfire meet and greet, but combine it with a gear “show-and-tell” of sorts. Friday evening, we’ll light the fire and set out a s’mores spread (courtesy of Fox Moto) while YOU bring your favorite piece of gear to show other riders!

Group Rides

At select times throughout the day on Friday and Saturday, we’ve designated group ride times, helping ladies meet each other and gather up to do whatever riding activities they choose as a group - go for a lap in the woods or mini track together, pick a lap and time each other to beat your best lap time, practice wheelies together, go try hopping some logs together, or just ride down to the creek and hang out!

Pit Bike Races

Bring those mini mini’s and anything up to a small wheel (19” front, 16” back) and join a mini bike race 5pm on Saturday!

All Meals and Free Ice Cream Break

All meals from Mitchell’s food truck are included with your ticket (Friday dinner, 3 Meals on Saturday, Sunday breakfast), and we’ll take a mid-day cold treat break (ice cream and vegan options) on Saturday!
