Check Out The New 2022 Beta Xtrainer 300

It’s no secret we’re super fans of Beta Motorcycles at Over And Out, and it all started with my own personal search for the right bike for technical woods riding. As a female rider at 5’6”, 130 lbs I needed to graduate up from my Honda CRF150f to something that would be ideal for woods riding, lightweight enough for me to manage on technical terrain, with enough power for me to grow with for years to come.

This is when I discovered the Beta 200RR, at that time a brand new model in the Beta lineup, and the Beta XTrainer 300, two bikes that offer slightly lower seat height, slender chassis, smooth power delivery, and are built upon a harmonious blend of engineering, testing and development that (in true Italian fashion) has yielded some of the most capable and enjoyable enduro motorcycles on the market!

It’s these same qualities that I believe make them both ideal models for female riders. With design heritage rooted in trials riding, the smooth power delivery and balance caters to the way technical riders ride. And these same qualities, I believe, transfer to what many female riders need. (I should mention that three of my most skilled male riding friends have also purchased Beta 200s and 300s recently, so don’t get it twisted in thinking these aren’t powerful bikes!)

This year, the Beta XTrainer, a growing favorite among the female off-road riding community, launches with some incredible new developments…

INTRODUCING THE 2022 BETA XTRAINER 300

The Beta Xtrainer (pronounced “Cross-Trainer”) is a versatile all-around model ideal for both intermediate riders entering the next level of the sport, as well as experienced riders. There are literally no other models on the market that compare, which is why it’s such an in-demand bike!

Some of the top qualities of the Beta X-Trainer 300 include:

  • Lower seat height at 35.8”

  • Dry weight of just 216 lbs.

  • An engine with smooth, manageable power delivery

  • Oil injection eliminating the need for pre-mixing fuel

  • Easy-to-access externally adjustable power valve

There are whole slew of new developments that are making this bike even better for 2022:

  • Engine: The engine has been completely revised! The 2022 engine has an all-new larger bore cylinder, a new piston and power valve. The new engine combines with a dedicated new ECU map for a smoother, more progressive throttle response and more linear power delivery

  • Crankshaft: New shorter stroke

  • Clutch with diaphragm springs: This makes the clutch action lighter, more progressive and more controllable, significantly reducing rider fatigue. Both engagement and disengagement have been improved, while the clutch is now capable of transmitting even more torque. To allow for totally custom set up, three different spring preload settings are available, adjustable with a simple mechanical procedure

I personally can’t wait to feel these clutch adaptations. I’ve modified my own 200RR clutch to be very lightweight and it’s made all the difference when I need to feather my way through any rock-garden-like scenario or rev-up quickly to access more power.

Here’s what else:

  • New starter motor: this extremely reliable unit has the power needed to restart the engine even in the trickiest situations

  • Updated electrical system: the improved layout of the bike's electrical system improves reliability and makes components quicker to remove and replace

And, as it already was, the Xtrainer 300 is Electric Start with Oil Injection.

MAKING THE SWITCH TO A BETA 2-STROKE

As I mentioned above, both the 200rr and XTrainer occupy a space in the market that serves advanced riders and racers, but are also great bikes for riders who have out-ridden their “starter bikes” and are now in need of full size wheels, better suspension and more power.

In many cases (as it was in mine) it could be a rider’s first foray into 2-stroke, seeking lighter weight and greater manageability on technical terrain. If you happen to fall into this group, I suggest reading this post: “Two Stroke Riding Tips: Get Ready to Ride the Beta 200RR and XTrainer 300”.

If you’re not familiar with the differences in 2 vs 4 strokes, that post may help you understand some of what is being described with regard to these bikes, and why these features make a difference!
